Retiring Baby Boomers: the Leading Edge Boomers

Leading Edge Boomers are those who started it all. They are the retiring baby boomers shaping the dynamics and definitions of what it means to be a “Baby Boomer”. This leading group of the Boomer generation were born from 1946 to 1955, and the very first wave turned 65 in 2011.

They grew up in a time of prosperity and general comfort. They pushed the norms of the day and created trends the likes of which had never been seen before. And, today, as this leading group approaches retirement, we look to them to help us redefine just what that idea of “retirement” really should mean.

Already, those who are signing up for Medicare and deciding if they should take early Social Security are experimenting with this time of their lives. Meet some of the leading edge boomers and read how retiring baby boomers are thinking about retirement – or reinvention. Tap into the innovation and ideas for how we will all reshape and redefine the very idea of retirement!

Marcia's Retirement Kitchen

What’s Cookin’?

If your kitchen is anything like mine, it’s the place everyone gathers to talk about their day, share special moments, and ask important questions. And to see what’s cooking.

For me, there is a strong connection between preparing meals and planning retirement. Both need certain ingredients, recipes to follow, and getting the timing just right.

My motto to live by: If you can make a lasagna, you can create a plan for retirement.

Look for an invitation to join me at my kitchen table where retirement is always on the menu.

More coming soon…
