Most women would benefit from having a expert financial help with planning for retirement.  But, only about one-third of women in the US have a financial planner or advisor.   That’s a lot of us going it alone.

The value of a financial advisor

Overall, financial advisors can help you be a better investor. The right ones also help you get more comfortable with money topics and prepared for retirement.  Depending on the kind of help you’d like from your financial professional, I can assure you, there is match out there for you.

Download the “Finding a Financial Advisor” information sheet. Match your style of money management to the choices listed.  You’ll get a good idea of the kind of advisor that might work for you.

Key questions to ask yourself

  • Very involved in your personal finances?
  • Somewhat involved in your personal finances?
  • Didn’t know I had personal finances!

You should also be prepared to interview prospective professionals. These questions may help you prepare for finding just the right person to advise you about your money.

Don’t hesitate to interview prospective financial advisors. Make sure you are comfortable talking to him or her.  After all, it is your money!

What’s Cookin’?

If your kitchen is anything like mine, it’s the place everyone gathers to talk about their day, share special moments, and ask important questions. And to see what’s cooking.

For me, there is a strong connection between preparing meals and planning retirement. Both need certain ingredients, recipes to follow, and getting the timing just right.

My motto to live by: If you can make a lasagna, you can create a plan for retirement.

Look for an invitation to join me at my kitchen table where retirement is always on the menu.

More coming soon…
