Cooking and baking are an integral part of my family life. There is nothing more wonderful than having family and friends sit around the kitchen table, enjoying a good, homemade meal and sharing the latest comings and goings of their lives. There is a lot of laughter and second helpings.
Now that my husband and I are more than “halfway to 100” and the girls are on their way to building their own lives, the times we get together and have these family dinners are even more special.
For me, there is a deep connection between food and retirement – from planning, shopping and preparing to seeing the results of a day’s creativity on the table. It takes a long time to become are good cook…and a long time to invest and manage and tweak plans for a successful retirement. The kitchen table just seems to be the best place for planning dinners and the future.
In these posts, I’ll share some of my favorite recipes for dinner and dessert, along with some recipes for retirement success.
Don’t be shy. Share some of your recipes and stories and how you are cookin’ up your plan for retirement!
